I had no choice, I felt compelled to tell the au pair to go…
Words cannot express my disgust when I heard that my darling poppets had head lice! There are such nice families here in Dulwich, so cultured and refined. Well it was immediately obvious where my darling babies had caught this infestation (eugh).
On reflection, I should have insisted that she left sooner. I tripped through the front door of her room this morning, directing the temporary nanny to her quarters, and as I stepped through the detritus of folded silver foil (I had no idea she was such a chocolate fiend!), random teaspoons and matches (OHMYGOD – and a smoker too!), solvent bottles (she must have worked part time in a nail bar – if only I had known), I discovered this damn cup! Apparently, she loved Brixton (gasp).
I didn’t know that girl at all (sob), she was NOCD, clearly.

Name of product: The Children’s Jewellery Company
Price: From £3.75 to around £10 for jewellery.
The blurb: “The Children’s Jewellery Company offers a unique range of jewellery for children online. Most of the items are handmade, and make an ideal gift for girls and boys.
The girls range includes girls necklaces, bracelets and earrings, there is also an amazing range of girls accessories – Funky hair clips hand made in America, Stunning girls handbags, and the sweetest fluffiest children’s tutus for parties.”
The funky button bracelet, chosen by my six year old poppet Freya, can be made in so many colours, there isn’t room to list them here. Lovely buttons of all shapes and sizes, flower, hearts, rounds. Apparently each is unique!
First impressions: The site is simple, uncluttured and engaging for any child or busy mum to shop. My daughter selected a cute bracelet and we received it within 24 hours, posted by first class Royal Mail. It was beautifully packaged and Freya was really impressed as was I
Ease of Use: Very simple
Pros: When my daughter was off school sick, she enjoyed copying mummy and shopping online. She took an age perusing this site. It is an ideal spot to select trinkets for party bags or gifts for a little chum’s birthday. The bracelet was really sweet and very well made.
Cons: I am not sure that I have not unleashed a dragon now. My daughter is becoming a committed online shopper… she is just 6 (wail)
Value for money: 5/5, these are not cheap, but they are very lovely and many are one off pieces
Stockists: The Children’s Jewellery Company
