Name of product: The Original Moroccanoil Oil Treatment
Price: £29.95
The blurb: “A powerful antioxidant and UV protector Moroccanoil’s proprietary Argan oil blend is rich in vitamins and natural elements that fortify the hair and protect against free-radicals and Phenols to shield against environmental stressors.
The Original Oil Treatment is an ultra-light formula which is absorbed by the hair instantly resulting in a natural silky finish and brilliant shine without leaving a residue. This oil treatment has the ability to restore over-processed hair damaged by environmental factors and chemical procedures. It revives hydrates and most importantly detangles hair wigs and hair extensions.”
First impressions: This luxury brand is said to be the fastest growing independent company in the professional salon industry. Salon-exclusive (although I have found it for sale in several places online) Moroccanoil products have a strong following among leading runway film television and celebrity stylists and is a backstage fixture frequently used to create hair for major magazine covers fashion editorial spreads as well as for award shows including the Oscars Golden Globes, Grammys and MTV Awards. The blue and orange packaging is eye catching and distinctive, however, this product is not an oil and it is certainly not from Morocco. As a firm fan of top quality Kerastase products and in particular, Serum Oleo-Relax for over a decade, I consider myself to be difficult to impress. For hair that is processed and styled every day with a hair dryer, straightening iron and styling products, this product will have to improve the condition and instantly add Cheryl Cole style gloss and shine to my tresses to win me over! I am a serious gloss junkie with high expectations!
Ease of Use: Simply work a small amount of the formula through damp hair where it instantly absorbs into tresses.
Pros: This is a must have product for lacklustre locks! Moroccanoil completely delivers on its promises to condition, smooth and style, all in one handy bottle… This product cuts down on drying time and imparts a new lease of life. Hair is glossy and manageable.
Cons: There are none, no really, this is a fabulous product. I have been a confirmed fan of Kerastase for a decade, but this leaves Kerastase in the dark.
Value for money: 5/5 This product is not cheap, but a bottle will last up to a year, so whats not to love?
