Name of product: Liberty print “Freya bean blouse” in Wiltshire print tana lawn cotton by Peak Princess.

Price: £29.99 plus £3.95 postage and packing

The blurb: “Liberty Prints for little people, handmade in the peak district. Exclusive, original and personal, not something you’d find on the high street. Traditional styles in iconic liberty prints, babies from three months and girls up to eight years from £24.99 to £44.99.
This long sleeved blouse, handmade in Liberty Tana lawn cotton, velvet ribbon on the hem and three button detail on the neck, elasticated neck and cuffs for easy dressing and comfy wearing. 6-7 years, £29.99.”

First impressions: The blouse arrived promptly by Royal Mail post, in an unremarkable white Jiffy bag envelope, but was beautifully wrapped within and presented in tissue paper. This simple, perfectly stitched garment is quite beautiful. The detail and obvious care and attention that has gone into its production make it potential heirloom quality. This is most definitely an item to keep forever.

Ease of Use: It is easy to put on, not an awkward fastening in sight, perfect for determined, independent little people. It is a simple design, easy to wear, easy to care for (still like new after several washes) and very well made.

Pros: The pretty patterned fabric means that the odd stray bean (organic – clearly!) or jam will not be obvious. My daughter adores it and says she feels “trendy like mummy”bless!

Cons: My only complaint is that the company do not have a larger range for girls aged from 6 to 8. The little dresses are so sweet! And the other thing, I would like them to make clothes for grown ups too.

Value for money: 5/5
