title pic Maclaren Beginnings bath milk (for baby)

Posted by dulwichmum on Mon 31 May 2010

Name of product: Maclaren Beginnings Calming Bath Milk

Price: £15 for 100 ml

The blurb: “A pure blend of organic oils infused with 100% pure essential oils to gently cleanse and soothe baby at bath time. The calming aroma of Lavender soothes baby into a restful state, while Geranium and Mandarin instill comfort and serenity.”

Once again, I have asked my chum, Saoirse, to try this product on her tiny boy, as my tiny boy is now eight years old (sob).

First impressions: Saoirse was sure about the packaging for this product, it reminded her of a talcum powder box! She felt there was far too much writing and information on the box.

Ease of Use: Clear instructions were provided on how to use the bath milk. The product was useful that it could be used in the bath or directly on a sponge to wash baby.

Pros: Saoirse commented that the milk smells lovely, and helped both mummy and daddy to relax while bathing the baby.

Cons: She felt that the glass bottle not child friendly for the bath but she guessed that could be necessary due to the presence of essential oils. She felt that the product wouldn’t last very long and did leave water very murky looking.

Value for money: Saoirse said that this seems expensive based on how quickly this product would be used up.

Dulwichmum verdict: ★★★☆☆

Name of product: Maclaren Beginnings – Soothing Delicate Soap (for baby).

Price: £8 for 100 g

The blurb: “Gentle, non-drying, extra-mild soap crafted from 100% organic natural plant extracts including Jojoba, Aloe and Lavender to gently cleanse baby’s delicate skin and hair. To sooth and genlty cleanse baby’s delicate skin without stripping away natural oils”.

I asked my friend Saoirse to try these products on her sweet baby boy, as my baby girl is now 7 whole years old (wipes tear from eye).

First impressions: My friend Saoirse commented that the packaging, similar to products for the rest of this range, had too much writing on it and the logo / details of the product did not stand out very well. She also said that it was quite large soap for baby.

Ease of Use: Saoirse reported that the soap it lathers up really well, smells divine and also feels silky and soft on baby’s skin (and on her hands too!).

Pros: Apparently it didn’t leave skin tight or feeling dry.

Cons: It was quite a large soap for baby but would last a long time, so not really a con!

Value for money: It is a large soap so she felt it was fairly good value for money.

Dulwichmum verdict: ★★★★☆
