First impressions: This is a bright and inspiring website, choc full of great quality brands for busy parents, from Phil and Teds’, Baby Dan, MacLaren and Maxi Cosi to Bebe Confort. The site is slick, allowing customers to compare and contrast everything from stair gates to push chairs with customer reviews and all at competitive prices!

Pros: Sites like this are a great resource for busy parents with everything a parent is likely to need, all competitively priced and with an emphasis on great customer services.

Cons: Post and packing is rather expensive for smaller single items and there is a rather complex and intimidating returns policy.

Posted by dulwichmum on Tue 1 June 2010

Name of product: Maclaren Beginnings Protecting Nappy Balm.

Price: £15 for 250 mls

The blurb: “Baby and mum will have a nappy time with the Aloe, Shea and Cocoa butter infused with soothing Lavender and calming German Chamomile to nourish, soothe and protect baby’s delicate skin. To protect a baby’s bottom by preventing and soothing irritation.”

My poppets are now too old to enable me to try or test baby products, so I asked my good friend Saoirse to help me with this review.

First impressions: Saoirse commented that this was a rather large tube and would last for a very long time.

Ease of Use: She said it was handy that the balm is in a tube, making it easy to dispense and therefore more hygenic.

Pros: Saoirse commented that the balm smells lovely, light and is easily absorbed into her baby’s skin. She said it definitely helped the irritation on baby’s bottom caused by teething.

Cons: She reported that the tube is too big so awkward to carry with you in a change bag. “Half the size would be better. The balm sometimes split when you squeezed it from the tube so can be little watery.”

Value for money: Although the tube is £15, which seems a lot, it lasts a long time as only a small amount is required for each application.

Dulwichmum verdict: ★★★★☆
