The blurb: The blurb from Origins says ‘In an ideal world, skin would never age before its time. Now Origins has uncovered a key to longer-lasting look of youth, health and vitality – utopia’s own Silver Tip White Tea. It helps banish youth offenders long before they cause visible signs of oxidation, deterioration, dehydration. Boswellia sets up a secure sanctuary against age-accelerating static and stress. Without the need to defend itself, skin’s energies are devoted to improvement. Smoothness is immediate. And lush, tranquil Mimosa, Orange and Bergamot sweep over you like a tropical trade wind. Skin has found its Shangri-la”

First impressions: The website is easy to navigate (although hard not to be distracted from your desired item by many other beautiful products) and has clear menus, categories and sub-categories grouping similar products based on the key ingredients . The presentation of the item was lovely, the packaging simple and that of a product that does not need bows and ribbons if it can do what is claims to on the box

Ease of Use:

Pros: The claims regarding this serum are rather far fetched, stating that the silver tip tea helps to banish oxidation, deterioration and dehydration. Any product that promises to banish these youth offenders and offers smooth skin is something I was more than keen to scrutanise. Having tried many other serums and found them either ineffective or rather greasy I was hoping to find a serum style Shangri-la from this one… I was certainly not disappointed (no, really)! The serum is rich and smooth and lightly scented and smoothes onto the face very easily. The light citrus fragrance is perfect for waking one up the morning (bats eyelashes)

My one concern regarding using a serum in the morning is that it can take time to soak in before moisturiser and makeup can be applied, thus adding minutes on to strict and rather frantic beauty regime (remind me to fire that damn aupair!). The serum immediately soaks in and leaves the skin incredibly smooth, giving it an instant youthful feel. I am delighted with this serum and although it unfortunately does not have the capacity to make me 21 again it has certainly given my skin a glow and a smooth healthy finish.

Any product that can improve the appearance of my complexion, which is normally very dry, whilst protecting the skin from the effects of ageing, is something I would recommend to anyone who leads a hectic life. This product has makes me confident that I am doing all I can, bar botox, to give my face the best chances of remaining as youthful as possible from one easy to use bottle

Cons: I am finding it very hard to think of any cons with this product, having used many other serums I am overjoyed to have found this one as its not greasy but you can feel you skin thanking you as you apply it

Value for money: The price tag does seem a little high on this product but having said that you only require a small amount and it is of a much higher quality than other serums. The way origins focus on prevention of ageing rather than cure is in itself a wise investment for any lady on an anti-ageing mission. Although I have been using this product morning and night it could equally be used as a pick me up for your skin a few times a week and therefore would last for up to six months

Dulwichmum verdict: ★★★★☆
