Name of product: Bath Oil by Mitchell and Peach – English Growers

Price: £39 for 100 mls

The blurb: “Mitchell and Peach products are fragranced with pure lavender oild from the Mitchells’ fifth-generation farm in Kent, England, combined with essences from around the world, including sweet violet, ylang-ylang and rose … containing almond oil and natural Vitamin E, this oil is highly fragranced, so little is required. Skin is left soft and scented”

First impressions: I wouldn’t agree that the oil is highly fragranced at all, I actually felt that the scent was rather ‘chemical’. However the outer packaging was pleasant enough. I was curious to try this, I adore bath oils…

Ease of Use: Simple, run a bath and add a few drops, remembering ‘highly fragranced, so little is required’…

Pros: Actually, not that many. It is presented nicely and your skin does not feel oily after using it in the bath, but that’s about it

Cons: I adore luxury products and have no problem paying for premium products, but this is not worth £39. If I had bought this, I would be disappointed. Its obviously marketed with the idea that a little goes a long way – but I did not find this at all. I do have quite a deep bath (smirk), but I found I needed a generous amount to make any impression. Even then my skin did not feel remarkably different or moisturised

Having loved some of the other products in the range, I was disappointed with the bath oil

Value for money:. Not good value at all

Dulwichmum verdict: ★☆☆☆☆ – 1 out of five as it did not leave an oily residue on the bath
