The blurb: “Take a magical journey to The Little Kingdom on 27th September when BAFTA award winning pre-school series Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom – Holly’s Magic Wand arrives on DVD for the first time!”

First impressions: The poppets were already familiar with Ben & Holly and their adventures and keen to settle down and watch – hurrah! Their ages ranged from three to eleven years -. Whats not to love?

Ease of Use: It’s a DVD – pop it in the machine or ask the aupair to do it for you!

Pros: The characters were familiar to the munchkins and so they were all engaged and enthusiastic to watch the DVD. The darlings were thoroughly entertained throughout and didn’t move an inch from start to finish! The 11 year old just about managed to last the distance, but the younger two were pleasantly entertained (aged seven and three) from start to finish! They were keen to tell me all about Ben and Holly, especially Holly and her relationships with everyone. This is a fab DVD for long car journeys

Cons: The 11 year old was entertained but strained to watch the entire DVD in one sitting (but she wouldn’t normally be expected to watch ALL ELEVEN episodes back to back, now would she?) – that is the last time I volunteer to watch my neighbour’s grandchildren while she pops to the shops during half term… I THOUGHT SHE WAS POPPING OUT FOR MILK BUT SHE SPENT THE DAY AT WESTFIELD (shakes fist at sky)

Value for money:. Yes, definitely one for the collection. Every home should have one
