Name of product: Brow Bars – Estee Lauder

Price: £15

The blurb: “Perfectly groomed brows are the must-have for a glamorous and sophisticated look

The Service: Estée Lauder Brow Bars offer customers the chance to have their brows shaped or tidied either through plucking or waxing, by one of Estée Lauder’s expertly trained specialists

The wax used is made with the finest resins, natural ingredients and aromatherapy oils, delivering superior performance, and removing stubborn hair as short as 1mm (1/16″)

The charge of £15 for this service is redeemable against any Estée Lauder purchase made that day”

First impressions: I visited The Brow Bar at Estee lauder in Selfridges, Oxford Street and I was not optimistic. I recently observed a woman having having her chin threaded in the middle of the sales floor at Debenhams on Oxford Street, and the therapist was virtually perched on her chest (gasp) for all the world to see. There are some things that should be kept private!

The Bar is discreet and luxurious with comfortable cream leather chairs that are obscured from public view. The staff are professional and discreet. I am genuinely wondering where the catch is with this service – it costs just £15 which is redeemable against purchases on the day and unlike any of the other brow bars I have visited, there is genuinely no hard sell!

Ease of Use: Kelly came highly recommended (she does everyone who is anyone you know!). She had the most fabulous eyebrows herself, so I immediately lost my inhibitions and leaped into the chair! Kelly talked me through the entire process, describing the virtues of the wax she used, and gave me tips on maintenance and shaping. The process was far quicker and much more thorough than threading. I have been having my brows threaded for almost two years now, but have realised that threading is just a fad. It is simply not as thorough as waxing

The process was virtually painless, speedy and expertly executed. My arches look stunning! Check me out (prrr)!

Pros: I had an expert brow shape – I genuinely cant fault it and would recommend it over Shavata, Malika and even Shilpa’s brow bar in Tooting (Indian women are legendary for threading!). Great brows are very now, and this is a perfect way to completely update your look. There are so many “Pros” with the Estee Lauder brow bar!

I then had the full £15 to spend on an amazing brow pencil – the Automatic Brow Duo (a refillable brow pencil, complete with refill) in soft blonde – which is just the most perfect ash brown! This pencil could have been made for me and costs just £16 (so just one additional pound!)! I also bought Brow Setting Gel (£11.50) – just perfect. I love the glossy navy blue containers for these products, and they are now valuable assets to my armoury!

Cons:

Value for money:. What can I say? This service pays for itself!

Dulwichmum verdict: ★★★★★ This is the best bargain in town!
