Cashmere Travel Wrap
By dulwichmum | August 20, 2009

Name of product: TravelWrap, from The Eclectic Collection in poppy, a pretty combination of linen and poppy colours in Scottish cashmere.
Price: £221.00
The blurb: The contemporary, knitted Scottish cashmere wrap from The Travelwrap Company. An inspired combination of luxury, comfort and elegance. Our beautiful knitted cashmere travel blankets provide comfort as well as a sense of home and can just as easily be worn to fend off the air-conditioning on a long-haul flight, watching the sun go down on a late summer’s day, or even a mixed doubles match at Wimbledon. A perfect treat for yourself or perhaps a gorgeous luxury gift for someone special… all beautifully wrapped and presented in our signature box.
First impressions: The item was delivered promptly in a beautiful solid box, that evokes quality, and the wrap itself, contained within a practical linen draw string bag, perfect for travel. The cashmere was so baby soft and irresistible. An utterly sumptuous 2ply, 100% cashmere, knitted cashmere wrap, 180cm by 90cm. I shall not be reserving mine for travel (smirk)!
Ease of Use: A featherlight and compact addition to hand luggage for a long haul flight, or an elegant, casual, cosy twist for any outfit.
Pros: Winner, Luxury Gift of the year 2008 (Spring Fair International), this is the ideal gift for a Monster-in-law, tortured by the thought that you could have married her darling boy for his cash. Give Granzilla this for an impromptu thank you gift (summer holiday childcare can be so difficult for working parents), and watch her face fall as she realises that you have fully mastered the art of spotting understated luxury (ha!). Her son will adore you, as he knows she will be snug on her plane trip to Barbados this Winter, it will be sure to leave a lump in her throat!
Cons: The linen, draw string bag, is a tad Spartan and practical for my tastes. An opulent silk or velvet bag, could be much more effective for alerting long haul cabin crew to one’s fabulousness.
Value for money: Top quality cashmere is not inexpensive, but I consider this to be an investment piece. This terrific company provide a super aftercare service, which could be important later this summer, as we seem to be experiencing an invasion of moths in Dulwich (gulp).
