Crane and Loads Wooden Baby Toy and Pull Along Fire Truck – Brio
By dulwichmum | Wednesday, September 8, 2010
Once again, my super chum Helena has stepped in to review products for little people! Her tiny boy is just the sweetest baby in town, I am sure you will agree!
Name of product: Crane and Loads Wooden Baby Toy and Pull Along Fire Truck – Brio
Price: £19.99 and £9.99
The blurb: “This Crane and Loads from Brio is solidly built of wood, with a flexible arm that picks up magnetic blocks. Lift and move till your heart’s content. Comes with three magnetic blocks
This Push Along Fire truck from Brio is a Classic version of the timeless favourite toddler toy. Wooden with a very nice finish”

First impressions: Oh I do love a good Brio toy (or two), tasteful, brightly coloured, sturdy and educational. Oh yes my little one loves them too!
Ease of Use: Lovely packaging with tempting photos on the outside and plastic sleeves so you can see the actual product…but then takes ages unwinding the wire attachments, where is the aupair? I may be forced to fire her you know. Baby dumpling was too excited to notice how long it was taking and how chipped my nails were by the end of it (OHMYGOD!!!)! Once out of the box, hours of entertainment for little ones – picking up the magnetic blocks, pushing the fire truck along and ringing its bell. Easy peasy!
Pros: Keeps the munchkin entertained for hours whilst I get the aupair to retouch my mani and enjoy a skinny cappuccino
Cons: If you bought anything from Brio as a gift you wouldn’t want to give it away!
Value for money:. 5/5
Dulwichmum verdict:

(these will be lifelong favorites, heirlooms in fact, and probably outlast us (wails)!)

Advanced Cellular Renewal Serum – Nude
By dulwichmum | Tuesday, September 7, 2010
Name of product: Advanced Cellular Renewal Serum – Nude
Price: £68 for 30 ml
The blurb: “This new Nude product is in stores from September 15th and has received rave reviews already from some big names and beautiful faces.
Nude say “Helena Christensen is already ‘obsessed’, Kim Cattrall and Uma Thurman are fans and Erin O’Connor has lauded it as ‘a knockout’, NUDE Skincare Advanced Cellular Renewal Serum is soon to become a global beauty phenomenon. From first use, skin texture and radiance are dramatically improved. With continued use, facial contours are redefined, skin is visibly smoother and firmer. With the highest concentration of Probiotic Technology in the NUDE range, this breakthrough serum uses three bio-available technologies proven to help the skin repair itself”
Here is the science behind Nude’s newest product:
ADVANCED PROBIOTIC TECHNOLOGY
NUDE’s Advanced Probiotic Technology repairs cellular damage and corrects ageing.
Clinically proven to:
• 70% increase in cellular renewal
• 50% reduction in cellular damage
• 35% decrease in irritation
BIOACTIVE PEPTIDES
Powerful Bioactive Peptides help stimulate Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Fibronectin production, restructuring the cellular matrix to firm the skin and reduce the depth of wrinkles.
COMPLETE HYALURONIC ACID SYSTEM
NUDE has created a unique three way system to optimise Hyaluronic Acid within the skin
• A concentrated dose of Hyaluronic Acid instantly plumps and smoothes
• Bioactive Peptides boost natural synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid
• Antioxidant Japanese Sea Kelp helps to protect against the breakdown of Hyalruronic Acid
First impressions: The packaging, as always with Nude, looks gorgeous, in a simplistic purple box with a sleek purple glass bottle, silver screw top and glass dropper
Ease of Use: The silver screw cap is attached to a glass dropper that releases the correct amount of serum with one push. After use the dropper is refilled by pushing the silver cap again. The instructions are to add one drop to fingertips and smooth onto a clean face. The product should, as with every serum, be followed by a moisturiser. It is absorbed into the skin instantly and leaves the skin instantly perky and ready for action
Pros: The serum is easily applied and leaves skin noticeably smooth and soft. Instantly after application my face feels refreshed and revitalised. It genuinely imparts a noticeable glow – no really! After using the serum for three weeks I genuinely feel and see a difference. I have an air of confidence that on a few occasions has actually inspired me to leave the house without my usual perfectly applied foundation as my dewy complexion looks rather gorgeous. Although I have to admit to being rather baffled by the science behind this serum and its benefits, I have to admit that it really does make my skin feel as healthy and vibrant as can be (smirk)
Cons: The only con to note is that initially I was tempted to add a more liberal amount of serum than suggested as it is hard to believe that one fingertips’ worth is enough to cover my face. I do feel that a little more than a fingertip is required
Value for money:. : I am a confirmed serum addict. This product is high end (like me!), with a price tag of £68 for 30ml. It is however, organic and extremely effective, and therefore is definitely justifiable for a spot of necessary self gifting or as a fabulous gift for someone you are nearly as fond of as yourself (hmm, tricky one).
