The blurb: “Trampolines, Above Ground Pools and Outdoor Toy Specialists – Big Game Hunters the Outdoor Toy Specialists.
The Fairy Princess Play Tent is the newest playhouse on the market. Easy to set up, easy to move and great to play in. That’s what makes these play tents so popular, convenience and fun is the key. The tent is a hexagonal turret shaped tent with a flat on the top. The tent slots together and is joined with connectors for easy installation

First impressions: This site is amazing; it has everything from super wooden play houses and trampolines to garden Jenga. It is cold at the moment, so we opted for the Fairy Princess Tent and my lovely friend Susanna agreed to review this for me

****************************

Ordering from the site was easy and delivery was prompt. The item was well packaged. The tent itself is actually quite big in size once up and nice calm pastel colours too, it looked amazing in my 4 year old daughter’s bedroom. She was shocked and amazed that she finally had a play house! Her face was a picture, but I played it down and looked surprised in response to ‘Whose is that Mummy?’

Ease of Use: Very easy to assemble and very sturdy once up. This tent is lovely quality and is very well made. It will last forever

Pros: Once in, she loved in, immediately coming back out to ‘get her things!’ Once back in she played with her big sister for hours, opening and closing the door and windows. This playhouse kept her well entertained and she liked being in her own space but she could also invite her sister in too. I can use it to hide toys away for a quick tidy up!

Cons: None, although it could have done with an iron! The creases fell out in a few days. It’s a very nice play tent, a pretty addition to her room, and the children loved it. Getting her to come out to go to bed is the one big difficulty this toy has caused!

Value for money: Yes, definitely very good value for money. I can find no fault with it. Clear instructions, easy to install, nice calm colours and the children love it

This website is super and the item I received is excellent quality, I can thoroughly recommend it

Name of product: PacaPod baby organisation system – Sequoia (Mink)

Price: £130

The blurb: “To some it’s an organization system for busy mums. For me it’s about liberation. If I’m organised, I’m happy

PacaPod is a unique baby changing bag using a 3-in-1 system, there is nothing else like it on the market. Your PacaPod is a bag you fall in love with, a baby changing bag and a baby cool bag all rolled into one. For parents with a head for organisation and a heart for fashion”

First impressions: OK, so a confession… this is not my first PacaPod bag. I already owned the Napier (which I adore), but when I was given the chance to review the Sequoia, I couldn’t resist! (I also have a very happy best friend who now has a pre-owned-but-in-very-good-condition Napier!)

The Sequoia is, I have to say, even better! It still has the fantastic pod system that I loved so much about the Napier, but has a few added touches that make it that bit more special. I prefer the shape – more like a handbag than a changing bag; the pods are secured in with clips instead of Velcro; and the pram straps can be attached to the metal rings, so they don’t pull on the lining of the bag (which was my one teeny tiny criticism of the Napier). Oh, and the cool bag doubles as a cute rucksack for your little one – I haven’t tried this yet, as my darling son has only just learned to walk, and would probably end up on his back beetle-style, but as soon as he’s bigger…

Ease of Use: This bag is all about ease of use! The pods make it so easy to find whatever I want, and are a perfect size – I can fit in enough nappies, food, a drink bottle, change of clothes and small toys for a whole day out, plus my essentials (wallet, keys, spare contact lenses, pen and a lippy – I’ve downscaled from the makeup bag I used to carry in my handbag – no time to reapply it anyway)

Pros: Keeps me completely organised. The Changing pod is perfect for taking out and nipping into even the smallest baby changing facility, while hubby guards the pram. Everything is easy to access one-handed; and the cool bag, with the addition of a half-size freezer block, keeps everything perfectly cold all day. The fixed strap is great for slinging over my shoulder or carrying on my arm, while the shoulder strap is better for hubby, or if I want to wear it satchel-style (better when trying to carry the baby and a load of other bags in from the car). The buggy-clips are fantastic, and make it possible to attach it to my Stokke buggy (most changing bags won’t)

Cons: Hubby feels the Sequoia is a bit less “gender-neutral” than the Napier, however, although he has his own “dad” changing bag, he still prefers the PacaPod, as it’s just so easy to fit everything in and find it all. (Maybe, if I’m in a generous mood, I’ll get him the Picos backpack version, which is more manly!)

My only other very slight negative is that the changing mat is quite small – fine until about 4 or 5 months, but my 13 month old hangs off the end. This is a very small quibble though, and to be honest, it’s nearly impossible to keep him on whatever change mat I use, as he’s such a fidget!

Value for money: I love nearly everything about this bag and think it is well worth the money. Yes, it is more expensive than other changing bags out there, but you get what you pay for. Having said that, I also think that my Napier was great, so for anyone who doesn’t want to go over the £100 mark for a changing bag, that is a fantastic alternative

Name of product: HouseTrip.com – The smart choice for short stays!

Price: Average cost of a 2 bedroom flat is just £103 per night!

The blurb: I was delighted to be invited by HouseTrip.com to visit a European city – ‘living like a local’ with the most amazing itinerary ever! HouseTrip is the revolutionary short-term rental website, where you can find, book or list your holiday apartment easily and securely. It serves as an intermediary between hosts on the one hand and travelers on the other. Launched in January 2010, HouseTrip.com has had resounding success with about 20,000 persons using it to find short term rentals last year. 90% of traveler reviews so far have indicated having a positive experience

HouseTrip.com provides benefits for both travelers/guests and hosts. For guests, cost is probably the largest incentive. One can get an entire apartment for the same amount (or less) than they would spend on a modest hotel room

Staying in a rental provides a more authentic experience than staying in a hotel room. The guest gets to see and be a part of the day to day life of the locals. The third advantage is HouseTrip.com ensures the security of the guest’s money each step of the transaction – no need to fear falling prey to con men (clutches chest!)

I must admit that I was not too excited to hear that the city was Paris – which I have always found to be incredibly disappointing (dabs tear from eye)

First impressions: I have to admit that a quick getaway to the heart of Paris, after a chaotic week in the City is easy beyond belief when travelling by Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord. I had not anticipated how relaxing it would actually be to arrive in a stylish, characterful, cosy, well equipped apartment in Montparnasse, as opposed to a sterile, generic hotel room – our apartment was totally French, perfectly appointed and cosy beyond belief! We were just a couple of doors from the most amazing patisserie for croissants and breakfast! There was a hairdressers just a couple of doors in the other direction and in the morning, when we woke, I discovered that we were next to the most amazing food stalls that made Borough Market look like Lidl!

Ease of Use: We departed London St. Pancras via Eurostar for Paris Gare du Nord Station, hopped in a cab at Gare du Nord, and arrived in 10 minutes at our apartment. Our apartment was 30 seconds from the Metro! Everything was so very accessible

First thing on Saturday morning (when I say first thing, I mean after croissants from next door and Nespresso from the super machine in the apartment- clearly!), we met our group of esteemed journalists and bloggers at Edgar Quinet Metro (moments away from our apartment), and departed on a three-hour walking tour of the Saturday markets of the Left Bank. Apparently, the markets of Paris are best for the early-birds! We visited the luxury food shops of the famous Rue Cler along with some more ‘local’ shopping experiences. Our guide was a working high-end chef who described the basics about how Parisians shop, what they look for in their food and what shops are ‘secret finds’ in the area. We bought food to be used in the afternoon cooking class on the day. It was a morning of sheer joy!

Following our shopping trip, back at our apartment, in the super equipped kitchen, under the tutelage of our super amazing chef, Francois, we prepared lunch together!

Later that same evening, we enjoyed a wonderful French meal at L’Assiette (http://www.restaurant-lassiette.com/ ) – a local bistro renowned for its involvement in the haute cuisine trends of the 1980s. It’s now a firm local favourite with a typically Gallic flair. The restaurant is located at: 181 rue du Chateau. What an amazing time we had. I shall let the photographs speak for themselves!

Sunday and Monday was spent drinking coffee and browsing the super shops and galleries! What a complete treat!

Pros: I must admit that this shopping trip has led me to completely re-evaluate my family’s relationship with food. Despite the convenience, I have resolved to completely avoid the purchase of food via the web. We need to touch, select and smell. I want to eat more seasonal and local food

Our apartment had everything from a great quality hair dryer to a coffee machine and great coffee. What I enjoyed so much was the entire immersion in Parisian life. It was totally amazing

Cons: Our chef, despite claiming all manner of super fabulous culinary distinctions, refused to allow me to have cream with my tarte tatin (inhales deeply). The customer is always right sweetie!

Name of product: Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure Starter Pack for the Wii

Price: Approximately £46.97

The blurb: “For generations, the Skylanders have used their magical powers and weapons to protect Skylands. But now, an evil tyrant has frozen them into toys and banished them to Earth. Only you can put them on the Portal of Power and bring them back to life in their world to save Skylands forever”

“Bring your toys to life!
Bring your toys to life in the new modern adventure game, Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, where players gather and use real-world fundamental interaction figures that are teleported directly into the game by placing them on a magical ‘Portal of Power.’

New adventure from the writers of Toy Story
Academy Award-nominated Toy Story feature film writers, Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow, penned this dynamic story-driven adventure, where players take on the role of a powerful Portal Master, who may control over 30 dissimilar characters, including the beloved fire-breathing dragon Spyro. Players will embark on a fantastical journeying into an awful mysterious world, where they will explore mythical lands, battle outlandish creatures, gather gold and treasures, and solve interesting puzzles on a quest to save their world from an evil Portal Master known as Kaos.

Over 30 distinctive collectible fundamental interaction figures
There are over 30 dissimilar fundamental interaction figures to gather and fetch to life. Each one has it is own distinguishable in-game personality, powers, and abilities. Additionally, each is classified by one of 8 element types (Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Life, Undead, Magic, and Tech), which also will affect what your reputation may earn or unlock allround the game. With over 30 distinguishable characters to fetch to life, kids may play the game again and again, each time having a dissimilar experience.

Toys with brains
Each fundamental interaction figure may do not forget shared experiences and leveled-up abilities. This allows players to personally custommake and power-up their characters, as well as take their fundamental interaction figures on-the-go to fetch them to life on a friend’s ‘Portal of Power’ for co-op play and player-versus-player arena battles.

Play with your friends
Players may join forces by placing two fundamental interaction figures on the ‘Portal of Power’ at the same time. As they play together, players may drop in and out all around the level with as a good deal of dissimilar characters as they would like. Different systems will come into play as players use their favored characters to tag-team versus sure obstacles, hazards and oppositions allround the game.

Battle your friends
Battle your friends in a classic player vs. player battle mode, which provides a selection of dissimilar game modes and arena maps where players may face off to become the extreme Portal Master. Use your army of fundamental interaction figures and their leveled-up abilities to defeat your friends in this head-to-head competition!” – half term was about to commence, the poppets were already refusing Kumon and violin practice, they would be swinging from my plantation shutters if I did not find some way for them to be occupied in my capacious, pristine home… OHMYGOD! Why did I fire the aupair?

First impressions: The starter pack we received was greeted with glee and excitement. I myself had not heard of the game before, but clearly the darling children had… They had seen it on TV apparently (TV!!! That is why I fired the damn aupair!). Removing the items from the box even I could not wait to see what the fuss was about

The super box we received contained stickers, trading cards, a t-shirt, a USB stick, magazines. A nice package of goodies which were immediately snapped up. Munchkins adore stickers and magazines – so always a hit – HURRAH (pop the gin back on the shelf)!

My daughter (8) and her friend who played the game is 12 and the older child really got the most out of it. My 8 year old daughter however, was initially cautious about moving the characters around the screen, but she will get better in time – clearly! Now where did I pop her viola?

Ease of Use: The game was simple to install and once commenced, the girls were quickly engrossed with progressing through the levels by saving people who were trapped in various places on the lands – I see careers as international human rights lawyers in store (smirk!). The lands appear to hover in the air and although it took time to acquire the skills necessary to manoeuvre the characters around, they soon got the hang of it

Very easy to change the characters over as one simply pops them on the portal of power and watch them change over on the screen – aren’t I down with the kids! Even technophobic moi can work this one out! The character changeover had a “Star Trek” quality to it!

Pros: The graphics were amazing and fun element of putting the characters on the portal of power to change them on the game was exciting. Learning to use to use a specific character according to their ability and strength with that ability was also fascinating

Progressing through the levels, the game keeps one informed with regard to progress and accessories collected (i.e. hats etc). This seemed to spur the impetuous to do better in the next level. I have always found the collection of accessories compulsive!

One child observed whilst the other played and we were all drawn in by the character changing and also offering assistance to free the people of the land. In the end, the player was instructing us to place the characters she needed according to their ability onto the portal, we were all engrossed, providing encouragement and taking part!

Cons: The characters seem to tire and therefore become unplayable. They required rest to recoup, and as a result, at that point, the game could not be progressed to complete the level (as all three characters were tired!). Possibly we needed to read up on this more, but there genuinely did not appear to be a way to gain their power back apart from rest

There were parts where the story unfoled, with information about why the characters were there and a little about the next level. Although interesting and intriguing for the children initially, some parts the story appeared a little slow and drawn out and I noticed their concentration begin to drift

Value for money: A genuinely engaging and fun game which was enjoyed immensely and the poppets begged to play it almost every day! I will purchase some more characters as it will assist the darlings to climb the levels and perhaps help avoid the issue of all of the characters getting tired at the same time

Dulwichmum verdict: 4 out of 5 stars

Name of product: Dining at The Rosendale Pub in West Dulwich

The blurb: “Totally transformed and under new ownership, The Rosendale is now a handsome local public house. Serving hearty, seasonal food, fine wines and cask ales in beautiful surroundings, you can be assured of the warmest of welcomes

Pop in for a pint, join us for a quick lunch, fantastic Sunday roast or just to enjoy our stunning new look gardens”

First impressions: As a local, I initially enjoyed the previous incarnation of The Rosendale, until the service went completely off the boil and the chef became obsessed with offal. I also loved Belair House – but the less said about that the better… As someone who enjoys eating out (I am a Michelin star groupie and an absolute Chez Bruce devotee), I was more than curious to investigate the latest offering at The Rosendale.

Why can’t we have somewhere great to eat out locally (shakes fist at sky)?

Three weeks ago, my darling man, our two perfect poppets, the housekeeper, Albina, and me, swept into The Rosendale for an early evening Sunday supper!

The first detail that made us smile about the new Rosendale was the fact that they have put a water bowl and dog biscuits by the door – we adore our cockapoo, and if he can join my lovely husband for a drink after an evening walk, we are all happy.

The newly decorated interior is much warmer, more welcoming, with lots of nice textures and ambient lighting – less high street and slightly more Osborne and Little, if that makes sense. We all agreed instantly that The Rosendale is much improved.

There is now lots of outdoor seating for balmy evenings and even play equipment for little people – why did the previous owners never make the most of the outdoor space?

Ease of Use: As a parent, I have to say that The Rosendale gets top marks for ease of use. The staff are charming and actively engaged our progeny. Service was prompt, Max and Freya were not left sitting too long between courses and the menu and wine list was a delight – James was more than happy! There were lots of young families dining when we were there, several high chairs and more than a few prams with new babies, yet the noise level was not too high, and it didn’t feel at all chaotic. There were plenty of healthy, imaginative and organic options to chose from on the children’s menu (it really is very Dulwich!).

The Rosendale is certainly a great place to dine out as a couple and still, a great place to bring the family too! How refreshing!

Pros: Lets see now, where do I begin? James, Albina and I had the Bresaola Carpaccio with rocket, stilton, celery and walnut dressing to start (don’t go and not try that!). It was simply so delicious that my salad averse poppets were curious and opted to try it too – unheard of! The rocket and celery were crunchy and there was just the right amount of scrumptious, perfectly seasoned dressing. The children enjoyed artisan bread, olive oil and Balsamic vinegar too (they are currently insisting on ordering from the adult menu – bless!).

We three grown-ups also had the Roast Orkney Beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. The beef was medium rare, just as requested, the Yorkshire pudding was the size of my housekeepers head – even the parsnips were delicious, and I hate parsnips! The poppets tucked into the beer battered fish and chips and both polished off adult sized portions.

The children selected ice cream and sorbet (Max tells me I must point out that the mango sorbet and vanilla ice cream was delicious) while the rest of our table tucked into enormous portions of mouth watering Eton Mess.

Cons: I must admit that we have returned to The Rosendale twice again over the last month (once without the children), we have now established our favorite dishes. Although I hear that they intend to change the menu soon, I really don’t want them to… (sniff). Everything is so perfect there at the moment, please do try it, before a single thing changes!

Max says that you must try the fairy cakes as he has so enjoyed decorating them himself and found them to be quite delicious. He also recommends the organic roast chicken!

Value for money: The Rosendale represents outstanding value for money. We five had three courses each, all from the adult menu (the kids menu is really reasonable at just £4.50 for a main course and £2 for pudding), a bottle of my favourite Macon, sparkling water and soft drinks galore, and it cost less than £180!

Dulwichmum verdict: 5 out of 5 stars Hurrah! PLEASE DON’T CHANGE A THING

Name of product: Bonnie Baby Clothing

Price: From £10.00

The blurb: Tracey Samuel says “Bonnie Baby was born in 2004 after the birth of my daughter Alice Bee – and like her, the business has been developing and growing ever since. With over ten years’ experience as a fashion designer, most recently for Paris fashion house Sonia Rykiel, I quickly realized that my new life as a mother would not fit well around the hectic Paris-London commute! So I took the plunge to set up Bonnie baby, creating beautifully designed high-quality baby clothes in luxury fabrics. Of course, with my new found experience as a mum, I made sure all of our baby and toddler clothes are machine washable to make life that little bit easier!”

First impressions: Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. The blanket and sleep suit arrived deliciously packaged in cartons. The packaging is lovely and is the icing on the cake when unwrapping these lovely little outfits. The sleep suit is beautifully soft and snugly for precious little munchkins. The blanket matches the sleep suit and is reversible, soft and cosy for those Autumnal walks

Ease of Use: The sleep suit is size 3 – 6 months and although my son is a bit of a long legged, chubby monster, it is a good fit (he is 4months) although I am not sure he will still be able to wear it at 6 months . I love to pop him into a sleep suit, especially one smart enough to make other Dulwich Mums green with envy. The suit is actually so cute that we decided to pop him in it for a friends Christening…this however was before my partner and I decided to trim his nails and I promptly chopped off the end of his thumb (oh the shame). On a positive note I can truly say that the suit washed extremely well and that any trace of our appalling parenting was removed…phew

Before Mummy got out the nail scissors After….opps

Pros: Beautiful unusual designs in super soft fabrics and so hard wearing, they will wash and wear well

Cons: I have fallen in love with the new super soft rainbow collection and am just working on a strategy to sneak these in to our chubby mans wardrobe without his father noticing. I also feel the sizes could be a little more generous (either that or I have to admit my little one is a bit of a brute)

Value for money: These are gorgeous pieces for any little ones wardrobe and a wonderful may to initiate that…’I would love to ask where that suit is from but refuse to give her the satisfaction’ look in many a passing parent!

Dulwichmum verdict: 5 out of 5 stars

Name of product: Willow – organic beauty products baby range (baby wash and baby balm tested)

Price: Organic baby balm £10.50, Mild organic baby wash and shampoo £13.50

The blurb: “Chamomile and Lavender are two of the most gentle and soothing ingredients – this is why we have used them exclusively for our Organic Baby range. With everything from Organic Baby Lotion to Organic Cotton Baby dressing gowns, these products only use the most gentle ingredients to keep your baby safe and happy”

First impressions: So nice to see baby bath products in attractive bottles, rather than the cheap, gaudy bottles one usually sees! Something I would actually allow on the bathroom shelf instead of tucking it away in the cupboard. Some might find the little bunny picture a bit too cutesy, but the little ones grow up so fast, why not indulge in a bit of cutesy baby stuff while one can?!

Ease of Use: The bath wash has a very useful pump top – vital for one-handed operation whilst wrangling the perfect child, who takes any opportunity to try to dive head first into the water and drown himself! The baby balm comes in a sweet little pot, again, very easy to use one-handed whilst perfect son attempts a kamikaze dive off the changing table…

Pros: Attractive, nice smell, good to know I am using simple organic products on the sweet boy’s skin instead of all those chemicals found in other products. Baby balm has really kept the nappy rash at bay too, and worked wonders on my poor hard-working hands (OK, I don’t do hard work, but one must protect ones cuticles!)!

Cons: I’m struggling to find any – perhaps just that the picture seems more suited to baby girls, but if that’s the only criticism I can muster…

Value for money: Reasonable value – pricier than standard baby bath products, but far nicer and natural, organic products, so worth the extra.

Dulwichmum verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars

London Eye River Cruise is a relaxing sightseeing provides a view of London from another perspective with an informative commentary from the tour Guide who was very entertaining

Pros: Customer service was excellent, from the very friendly and helpful lady who greeted us at check in, to the guide who accompanied us on the tour and served our champagne. We skipped the long queue at boarding, which is a great time saver when you’re sightseeing for example or with impatient children
There were nine people in our pod and the tour Guide was very attentive and accommodating; happily offering to take photos for everyone in the group

The cruise was perfect, with an interesting commentary and fabulous views. There was lots of space on board the boat and nice food available from the cafeteria

Cons: There is not a lot of time allocated to get from the London Eye to the allocated Cruise! If you miss it – you will need to purchase new ticket (YIKES!)

Value for money: The entire experience was unforgettable and the memories are priceless! This was great value for money

First impressions: The views are breath taking, it takes me right back to watching Shirley Temple in Heidi as a child. The sound of cow bells, the pretty chalets, a profusion of unique character boutiques with none of the vile familiar shop fronts that make up the UK high street. We are all quite overwhelmed by the beauty, the vibrant colours and the clean alpine air

We are not normally a sporty family, I am wondering if I should purchase some walking boots…

Ease of Use: It is quite amazing, but despite the rugged landscape and sense of isolation when on the top of a mountain, I had a reception on my iPad and smart phone from the most extreme places!

We simply caught the train from Geneva airport to Bex station where we caught the tram, leaving us on the door step of our hotel! It was so easy to reach Villars and travel around when we were there, we were amazed to observe that our, usually high energy, Nintendo addicted poppets were thrilled by the views and vistas. They produced their cameras on the train along Lake Geneva and did not put them away until we were back in the airport on the way home!

This was the most amazing opportunity to get back in touch with my children, so observe how grown up and independent and sensible they are , to co-operate, learn from eachother and just be calm together, without work on our minds or homework tasks/music practice to interfere with our enjoyment. A genuine opportunity to spend quality time together

Pros: I really cannot say enough about this holiday destination. My two poppets are normally exercise averse, but they cried when we left Villars. They simply couldn’t get enough of any of the activities they engaged in. They adored the cable cars and trams, the amazing views, the cows grazing at the top of mountains (how did they get up this far?), the ice skating, the climbing even the walking! We didn’t sit down for 3 full days. Nothing was forced, we couldn’t wait to get going and see the area, each day something new. All of the trams and cable cars and activities (including archery, golf, climbing, ice skating) were actually free of charge!

Although there are several languages spoken in Switzerland, everyone was happy to communicate in English and my children had plenty of opportunities to practice their French. Everyone was very friendly and everything was set up for families. The poppets ADORED our accommodation!

Cons: Although transport and activities are all free in Villars, the strength of the Swiss Franc (apparently its value has rocketed over the last 18 months) means that you will find food incredibly expensive. We had supper in a cafe, the evening we arrived, and with just 2 glasses of wine and 2 small Diet Cokes, no appetizers and no puddings, we spent almost £140!

I must admit that despite the cost, there is no-where we would rather bring our children. Normally cautious of trying out new sports – because everything is free, and close by, they went to observe activities and were coaxed in! I feel that this was incredible for building their self esteem and confidence

Value for money: This break is not cheap. The prices in the shops were breathtaking; however, we thought this holiday was great value. We had an amazing time and will be back, far better than anything we have done before, and so incredibly healthy!

Dulwichmum verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars I have only marked this holiday down as the food was so expensive, otherwise it is beyond perfect.

Name of product: Swiss Air, Flying London City Airport to Geneva, 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 9

Price: From £89 return, including taxes!

The blurb: “Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) serves 73 destinations in 39 countries all over the world from its Zurich hub and operates a fleet of 98 aircraft. In the UK and Ireland SWISS operates 34 daily flights from London Heathrow, London city, Birmingham International, Manchester, and Dublin to Switzerland and , via its hubs to the world

Switzerland’s national airline embodies traditional Swiss values such as personal service, attention to detail and typical Swiss hospitality – we aim to make each and every customer feel at home on our flights

SWISS is a member of Europe’s biggest Frequent Flyer Program, Miles & More, a member of Star Alliance and is one of the few carriers to operate an all-inclusive pricing model with no hidden costs”

First impressions: When we arrived at London City Airport at the crack of dawn with 2 excited children, I found the automated check in a little overwhelming. However, the staff were incredibly accommodating and efficient, and printed out my tickets and checked us all in with a smile. Words can’t express the relief that was for us! We were also so pleased to find an airline that doesn’t bother with this “hand luggage only” concept, which can be a nightmare when travelling with children and babies

Ease of Use: The flight to and from our destination took off promptly and there were nice big leather seats with plenty of leg room (I know – and in economy too!). Despite the fact that the majority of passengers were obviously business travellers, several parents were travelling alone with young children – one woman had a small dog in a handbag, and the staff were incredibly patient and accommodating

I found this airline refreshing, and I am now in love with London City Airport – I previously only considered it for business travel. London City is actually a great choice for travelling with young children – the communal spaces are far more comfortable and intimate than the enormous areas that Gatwick and Heathrow are! To put it simply, there is no where for the kids to go missing!

Pros: The price includes luggage and in flight catering, there are no hidden extras. The staff were efficient and courteous, nothing is too much trouble, everything about the airline was prompt and efficient. You can fly economy with SWISS without feeling like an economy passenger! Flying with children with SWISS was a pleasure! This airline has the image of a business airline and so I noticed very few holiday makers. I hate the bun fight that holiday travel has become, we pre-selected our seats at check in, and there was no mad scramble on board!

Cons: I genuinely can’t think of any. I will fly SWISS again with my children, they are outstanding

Value for money:. I found this airline to be the most terrific value, I am so impressed. I genuinely could not recommend it more highly

Dulwichmum verdict: 5 out of 5 stars
