Snoozeshade – Pram and Buggy Blackout Blind
Posted by dulwichmum on Thu 12 May 2011
My perfect chum Jamima is a new mum and happily reviewed this super baby product for me, and Dulwich mums everywhere!
Name of product: Snoozeshade – Pram and Buggy Blackout Blind
Price: £19.99 plus £4.50 delivery
The blurb: Snoozeshade is a success story of a Mumpreneur who left her career to look after her daughter and ended up designing a product that would make her life as a Mum easier. After many hours trying to get an alert baby to sleep using all the tricks up her sleeve Cara realised there was a gap in the market. A product was needed that helped an over-stimulated baby to sleep whilst also giving Mum the chance to leave the house without her little poppet being woken up grumpy by the sunshine peeking in! After a great deal of research and a lot of encouragement from friends equally desperate for their poppets to sleep on the move, the Snoozeshade was born!
First impressions: My first impressions when looking at the website are that this is certainly a product worth investigating. The website not only cites support from some ultimate celebrity Mums (you know they type: the skinny, perfect ones with the personal trainers) but also shows awards from many big names in the baby business too. The site is very easy to navigate: product information is crisp and clear and the gallery allows you to view how the product fits on a range of different prams. As a Dulwich Mum it is obviously a comfort to see that it will fit equally well on all of my prams as we all understand the necessity to pram-accessorise for the specific occasion. That means I can use the shade on my Bugaboo Cameleon when attending baby-massage or my Phil and Teds Sport on Running Mummies day! The Frequently asked questions cover everything any New Mum needs to know (except does my baby really not have an off button) and the Snoozeshade shop could not be easier to make that stress-free online purchase.
The Snoozeshade itself arrived well packaged, the simplicity of the design and packaging speak volumes about the practicality of this product. The Snoozeshade has the added reassurance of UPF50+ protection from a breathable product that will leave your baby cool and protected even on the hottest of summer days.
Ease of Use: The Snoozeshade is easy to attach using the flexible veclro straps and even I, with zero sleep, birds-nest hair and an inability to recall my own name through complete exhaustion, am able to quickly and easily fix to the buggy
Pros: The Snoozeshade not only covers well but has an easy access zip to allow you to peek in and check that your peaceful poppet really is blissfully asleep inside as you get on with the daily routine (as opposed to still at home in their baby bouncer – we may laugh but I am sure there is not a Mum around who won’t admit to very nearly forgetting her poppet at least once).
The shade comes in a mesh bag which is easily attached to the buggy ensuring easy storage when not in use. I really can’t say enough about the UPF50 for baby’s skin, without having to load the skin up with a single product!
Cons: I am struggling to find any cons for this product. It is great value especially for something that can not only make such a difference to your little ones routine but give you your freedom back too. The design is simple, sleek and functional covering all areas. The only Con that springs to mind is that I didn’t come up with this idea first but you can’t win them all!
Value for money:. Fantastic value for money. This product is a must have.
