Conspicuous Consumption
Posted by dulwichmum on Wed 10 March 2010
I have had enough of this damn recession (stomps foot).
Never afraid to swim against the tide and set a new trend, I intend to play my part in restoring consumer confidence and champion the cause of conspicuous consumption! Given the opportunity, I would flash my husband’s Black AmEx all over town, but as we are destined to remain sans bonus this year, I have purchased this eye catching new purse (so you can’t miss me) and my generosity shall know no bounds!
Why not join me in my efforts to be seen splashing the cash? Take your girl chums/mother/nanny/housekeeper/personal trainer/interior designer/dog walker and au pair to attend a special daytime preview screening of Oscar® winning The Blind Side at a preview screening before its nationwide cinema release on 26th March?
For your chance to attend a special daytime preview screening (at a number of locations), simply enter the below code at www.seefilmfirst.com to get your complimentary pair of tickets!

“Teenager Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) is surviving on his own, virtually homeless, when he is spotted on the street by Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock). Learning that the young man is one of her daughter’s classmates, Leigh Anne insists that Michael—wearing shorts and a t-shirt in the dead of winter—come out of the cold. Without a moment’s hesitation, she invites him to stay at the Tuohy home for the night. What starts out as a gesture of kindness turns into something more as Michael becomes part of the Tuohy family despite the differences in their backgrounds.
Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. And as the family helps Michael fulfill his potential, both on and off the football field, Michael’s presence in the Tuohys’ lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.”

come on Dulwich Mum is that a blog or just advertising? Write something proper, I know you can. Also, we say bag over here, not purse.

Sweet Taffety meg,
I use it as a purse! I put my credit cards and money in it and carry it in my handbag. Isn’t that a purse?
This is not advertising, I do own that purse. I am publicising these free tickets though, because I think it is a super offer. Where is the harm in that?

True, it is a little dated and we get films once they been everywhere else 15 times and yes it does have the same decor and seats it had when I was 10 years old…
Darling Husband has taken me to the cinema 3 times in 18 years and he feels that’s emough (OHMYGOD!! 18 years!! I’m so old…I shall just go and have a crisis

Nice purse. Critics divided. Apart from those Oscar ones, of course, but what do they know?
