The blurb: “Pink Pig Clothing was set up by yet another Yummy Mummy, who 12 years ago when living in the USA encountered the strange phenomenon of the baby shower. Not flustered by this odd and very American custom she bought some fabric and created the gift to trump all other baby shower gifting (don’t you find that very Dulwich?)…the glorious and very sought after cow print baby blanket!

Since returning to the UK, being a Mum who refuses to stay at home, drink lattes and eat cinnamon swirls, this business woman cunningly disguised as a Mum has created the Pink Pig Clothing Company with the fitting “who loves ya baby?” slogan borrowed from Mr Savalas for those of you who admit to remembering the 70s!”

First impressions: The website is crisp, approachable and easy to navigate. There is no overwhelming fluffiness or bunny pictures that can be so tiresome with baby orientated websites. (Just because we have children or happen to have befriended those who do, does not mean our brains have turned to candyfloss!). Sorry…where was I?! The website contains a clear list of the items available: the range of blankets, hooded towels, bibs, nappysaks and the newly stocked appliquéd sweaters

The range of styles and colours available ensures there is a product for every taste. The pastel or bright backgrounds on the baby blankets are fantastic and even caters for those selfish friends who refuse to find out their child’s gender just to help you purchase the perfect gift! The site also contains details of the company background, FAQs and a link to other loved websites, including the much loved blog of another fabulous Mum (smirk)

The blanket arrived beautifully packaged, wrapped with a co-ordinated ribbon and would be the perfect gift for any Mum To Be / an addition to your new limited edition Bugaboo / a well overdue replacement to the hideous knitted item that your mother-in- law lovingly created that simply refuses to tumble off the buggy without some well meaning stranger retrieving it! The fleece texture on the reverse block colour side of the blanket is backed with a gorgeously tactile cow print faux fur seriously suitable for snuggling little ones

Ease of Use: Well to be honest once you have grasped the breast pumps, lack of sleep and “easily collapsible” pushchair what would not be easy. The blanket is the perfect winter warmer and fashion accessory for any travel system, lovely for little ones to crawl on for a bit of tummy time and great for jazzing up the cot. The blanket is machine washable and washes wonderfully and after 3 washes there are no signs of colour fading and the blanket is still met with looks of envy. Even my other half, who is normally oblivious to baby soft furnishing, remarked on how much he liked it!

Cons: > It’s very hard to think of a con for a product that is designed by a Mum for a Mum. The blanket is the perfect size, the UK manufacturing is of a high standard and the designs are simply gorgeous.
Value for money:. Value for money: Great value for money although you could find yourself justifying a further purchase of a Giraffe, Leopard, Zebra or Dalmation blanket too as it is never too early to accessorise
