Elimination

This morning, I escorted my aupair and burley boy to school. It was time for the legendry Annual Shoe Inspection – the poppets must have pristinely polished shoes, their laces in a perfectly proportioned bow (smirk). All of the tiny little men were lined up with their freshly polished shoes proudly on parade. Sooo much work had gone into preparing for this, who would be found wanting?
Does the innocent head teacher, Mrs Bryant-Black, even notice the anxiety in their eyes?
“It teaches them to take pride in the uniform, develop relevant life skills and a sense of responsibility and achievement” – isn’t she a marvel? She has the full support of every parent you know.
All around the school yard, aupairs took a collective deep intake of breath. They were pale, trembling with anxiety, wondering who would be told to return to the house, pack up their bags and leave…
But yes, Branca stays on for another week; she is still in the running to become Dulwich’s Next Top Aupair. Sadly, Jocasta’s aupair, Agata, is no longer with us. I hear that she was lazy and without focus. She cost a fortune to feed and despite her perfect hairy toes, tangled teeth, Birkenstocks and double chin, she simply didn’t have what it takes.
Max’s shoes were just perfect (dabs tear from eye)…
It is so hard to get good staff!

North West London Girl said,
A fabulous post, it reminds me so much of NW London school days, though to be honest a little of this sort of behaviour seems to have trickled through to the countryside too, I suppose it depends on where the little darlings are at school xx
