Estee Lauder – Pure Colour Collection – Pure Gloss Sticks

Name of product: Estée Lauder, Pure Color Collection – Pure Gloss Sticks
Price: £17 for a 2.5g Pure Gloss Stick
The blurb: “The new Pure Colour range boasts the ability to give your pout a punch.” Who wants a punchy pout (clutches chest)? “The range of Pure Gloss Sticks are formulated to compliment the striking new eye shadow palettes, vibrant nail lacquers.” I must admit, it doesn’t sound very high end to me!
First impressions: The packaging is beautiful, combining the gold mirrored wand that we associate with Estée Lauder with a modern transparent tube. The two glosses I am reviewing are Simply Pink and Passion Fruit although there are many more gorgeous glosses within this new range. The glosses smell delicious and have a slightly fruity scent – although not overpowering leading you to question whether you have picked up your daughters Hello Kitty gloss in the pre-school stumble to the door (NOTE TO SELF: Fire the aupair)
Ease of Use: The lip glosses smell delightful and the wand is great for quick and easy application. One coat certainly is enough to give you a “pout with a punch” (Gosh! Aren’t I down with the kids!).
The gloss retains its sheen for some time and leave your lips feeling moisturised without the stickiness than can be irritating with other brands of gloss. Often I have found other glosses can leave a rather chemical taste to your lips so in the spirit of thorough testing I did a taste test too, the gloss does not leave any taste from your lips (although I did feel rather odd purposefully chewing my lip). The colours are glossy and smooth. The Passion fruit works well with a sun kissed complexion and the Simply Pink is a compliments to the classic English rose (admires own image in mirror)
Pros: These glosses are beautiful and luxurious and leave your lips feeling smooth and moisturised whilst adding a wonderful hint of colour and a natural look. As someone who tends to forget lipstick or lip gloss as long as the rest of my face looks perfect I must admit that I won’t be leaving the house without one of these glosses in my bag, a smug smile on my face and a layer on my lips!
Cons: I can’t think of any cons as I genuinely loved these glosses, the perfect hand bag pick-me-up and the subtle colours work with many different make up looks
Value for money: These gloss sticks are great value for money and I feel that I could justify many of the glorious colours in the range as they pick up a tired face and guarantee a pout with a little punch (HA!)
