Luck!

This morning, as I escorted my tiny girl to the school gate, I was repulsed to observe that some nonchalant dog owner had permitted their hound to evacuate his bowels on the sidewalk (clutches chest and chokes back vomit).
How very dare they (stomps foot)!
“NOOO” I shrieked. “Step away Freya. You don’t want dog muck on your school shoes!” when I spotted the enormous steaming heap of excrement as big as a Chihuahua lurking slightly to the left of her Buckle My Shoe black button brogue.
“But Grandma Brenda says that it is good luck!” beamed the perfect girl, “is that not true? Are you saying that Grandma lied…”
“Well clearly Grandma Brenda would never lie” I lied, “although I will admit that she may have been motivated to embelish the truth in order to stop you blubbing when you waded into that bank of horse poo in the park last week…”
“So it is good luck then?” She chirped.
Yes, clearly, I replied.
“Well then I shall tread in it” she said – her tiny foot hovering purposefully above the steaming abomination”.
“No sweetie, we are such lucky people already,” I reasoned. “Think of the luxury cars, the profusion of staff… mummy’s vast shoe collection,” the poppet looked unmoved…”our sumptuous Cockapoo?”
“OK then, I suppose that is fair that we leave this doggy do for some other person to stand on, someone who is not as lucky as us” and with that, the traffic lights changed, releasing up to sweep across the road to leave the horrific heap behind us.
Having deposited my progeny at the school, and en route back to the car, I spotted the lucky Miranda, her flesh toned Pedro Garcia Trudy Castoro suede heel wedged, virtually up to the knee in the mound (smirk).
Isn’t life good? It is important to acknowledge when we feel happy, don’t you agree?

Where does one buy such a well-trained hound? I fear my dog’s days are numbered.

Perfect Domestic goddesque,
My cockapooTeddy has terrific manners sweetie, but he would have a minion for this. Everyone in Dulwich has staff sweetie!
Sweet Knackared Mother,
I knew you would understand!

Ha ha, I bet Miranda didn’t feel very ‘lucky’ – although maybe she will get a fabulous new pair of shoes out of it and have the last laugh..
