Married love…

I had a very interesting conversation with an old friend yesterday over lunch. With tears streaming down her By Terry embellished cheeks, she describe her husband’s pre-occupation with the family, his obsessional focus on their boys…
“He adores the children sweetie, isn’t that a positive thing?” I reasoned. “He loves the poppets you have made together. You are blessed!”
Judith went on to elaborate and described her man’s indifference towards her, his immunity to her “charms”…(gasp).
Married for ten years, corporate banker Rupert has recently had his expenses slashed, his bonus chopped and his excuses to work late, surgically removed. He has been spending far more time at home than ever before.
Dutiful wife, Judith, had noted press reports that expenditure on fine lingerie and home dining had rocketed and considered ways of keeping her man occupied and entertained at home.
Last Friday night, in an effort to re-ignite the flames of their passion, she dispatched her poppets for a sleepover, purchased a special bedroom ensemble and prepared to surprise her man with a sumptuous meal. Completely oblivious, Rupert arrived home from work early and was greeted by his wife in a leather basque, suspenders and eye mask.
“What’s for dinner Batman” was not quite the greeting she had been hoping for… OHMYGOD!
I tried not to laugh… Thank God this recession is over, us Dulwichmums must take our comfort where we can (sigh)!
