“Whenever a friend succeeds a little something in me dies” – Gore Vidal
So I have had another birthday, and I have celebrated it – oh yes I have! I do not feel twenty years old any more. I am so much wiser than I was when I was twenty.
I adore that quote, it says it all, I think, about life here in Dulwich. My darling son is the best in his year at maths…
Will I tell anyone at the school? Will it cause more upset than celebration?
Do you think I will tell anyone?
You bet I will!

My dear – congratulations! You really don’t look a day over twenty-two and don’t let that au pair tell you differently! In fact – November birthday people are the best! Did you know you share the same sign as Aims? Will you tell anyone? You bet you will! Novemberites Rule!!

Congratulations on your birthday. You definitely look younger than you did last year, which confirms a little theory I have: instead of Picture Of Dorian Gray, you have somehow managed to harness the youth and vigour of your au-pairs and use it to keep you looking youthful, hence the need for regular replacements. ‘Tis the au-pairs that age……
Envious? Moi? Not at all.
PS- apologies if that seems a touch rude. ‘Twas merely my attempt at birthday humour. I haven’t had a coffee yet so my mojo may be somewhat off.

Thank you Aims dear heart. I knew we had a lot in common (wipes tear from eye)…
Sweet Domestic Goddesque,
I know exactly what you mean. I suck the life out of my poor aupairs and then toss them aside like an old handbag!
Knackared Mother darling,
I must admit that I have no idea what you are talking about (laughs socks off).
