Name of product: Origins, Reduce Reuse Recycle – A perfect World, Antioxidant cleanser with White Tea

Price: £16.00 150ml or free on 22 April 2011 if you take your current skincare product (any brand, full or empty) and trade it in for a complimentary full size “Perfect World” or “Checks and Balances” face wash

The blurb: “Our mission at Origins is to create high-performance natural skincare that is powered by nature and proven by science. We use potent plants, organic ingredients and 1005 natural essential oils. And our long standing commitment to protect the planet, its resources and all those who populate it is reaffirmed by our earth and animal friendly practices, packaging and policies’

I like this… I’m all for doing our bit to the save the plant for our poppets…

“April is also Earth Month and in celebration, Origins will be kicking off it’s Return to Origins recycling program, a new initiative that was inspired by a 2008 Allure article about the growing problem of cosmetic waste

Also as Part of our commitment to the planet, Origins has established a partnership with Global Releaf to plant tress to help restore areas damaged by wildfire and help clean our air and water. For every Plantscription sold during 17-30th April 2011, origins will plant a tree on the customers behalf (see website for details)”

Hurrah for Origins! Now back to the face wash. According to the blurb:

“This perfect foaming face wash is formulated with nature’s most potent age-fighting antioxidant, Silver Tip White Tea. In a pre-emptive sweep, (I like this) dirt-grabbing minerals combined with the gentle, skin-compatible cleansing action of Palm, Coconut and Oat Amino Acid help detoxify and free skin of harmful, free radical-releasing impurities. Skin is perfectly clean, smoothed and refreshed.
Best for age fighting protection

For combination/dry skin”

First impressions: I found the packaging a little overwhelming at first…sooo busy that I found it difficult to ascertain what the product actually was. But in BIG letters it did say the 3 R’s – reduce, reuse, and recycle, so at least I’ll end up helping to save the planet by using the face wash!

Ease of Use: Use AM and PM daily. Just Squeeze a pea sized amount into palms. Activate with a splash of warm water to create a lush lather. Massage over skin. Rinse thoroughly. Very easy to use

Pros: This product has a pleasant scent – orangey, zesty and definitely refreshing. It has a creamy consistency and lathers up very easily and washes away make up leaving skin feeling super soft, supple, fresh and invigorated! It contains no harsh ingredients; all the ingredients are plant-based and environmentally friendly. I love using the product in the mornings as it wakes me up with that lovely smell!

Cons: I have to say that it did leave my skin feeling a little tight but that is not really a problem if one uses moisturiser. It is reasonably priced, and this is the perfect opportunity to try it for free if you trade in your current skincare product! The only other point to make is that I accidentally got some of the wash in my eye and it sure stung! Won’t be doing that in a hurry again! So be warned and keep those eyes tightly closed!

Value for money:. Great value for money, a super effective product that will last forever!

Dulwichmum verdict: ★★★★½ Super soft revitalized skin!
