The blurb: “Spend this Easter holiday with Peppa Pig! Enjoy the adventures of Peppa Pig this Easter with the new DVD release of Peppa Pig – The Fire Engine and Other Stories out on 29th March. The DVD is packed with 10 fun-filled tales about Peppa Pig and her family with all the joy and laughter we’ve come to expect from this adorable character. Peppa is a lovable, cheeky little piggy who lives with her younger brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. The perfect gift for your little ones this Easter holiday, Peppa Pig- The Fire Engine and Other Stories is a must-have DVD for fans of the show.
In The Fire Engine, Mummy Pig is a member of the ‘Mummies Fire Engine Service’ run by Miss Rabbit and she takes Peppa and George with her to visit the fire station. Suddenly, Daddy Pig calls in with an emergency- his barbeque is on fire and they must come to his rescue! Don’t miss this hilarious episode and the other great tales included on the DVD.”
First impressions: This DVD seems to be the perfect, non chocolate based, gift for pre-school darlings who are established fans of the show. Peppa Pig is a phenomena and was created by BAFTA award-winning studio Astley Baker Davies. It is currently one of the UK’s biggest pre-school properties and has been sold to 180 countries worldwide. With a pedigree like that, one can be sure that this is a DVD guaranteed to engage and captivate pre-school tinies, for longer than it takes for mummy to use the straightening iron and apply her morning make-up!
Ease of Use: It is a DVD, what more do I need to tell you?
Pros: This DVD kept 2 little visiting poppets (I admit, both established fans of the show), aged 2 and 4, completely engaged for the whole length of all the stories. They both looked quite spell bound and the 4 year old particularly enjoyed the Fire engine story and the Boat rescue story.
Cons: Maybe the stories could relate to each other more? Apart from that, the tales appeared perfectly pitched.
Value for money: 5/5
