Rocks

I am so very excited to share the news that this summer will mark our tenth wedding anniversary (smirk). Naturally I have been browsing the Astley Clarke website – did you know that those clever people have conveniently re-branded the tenth wedding anniversary “the diamond”? I kid you not (nods head solemly).

It is probably due to the fact that so many marriages now end with a trip to the divorce courts. Some husbands can be so very unkind to their lovely wives (sigh).

Last night I asked darling James if he had plans to purchase something small and special to mark our special anniversary (he is about to head out to South Africa for some sporting jolly and everyone knows the best rocks can be found there).

He laughed like a drain and agreed that he would indeed buy me something small and sparkly – he claimed that he intends to take me out “for a Babycham” when he returns!

OHMYGOD!

Does anyone have the phone number for Mishcon de Reya (wails)?

  1. Ooh do you get a ring for your 10th anniversary? I’m still waiting for my eternity ring after the birth of my daughter!!!!

  2. Sweetie,

I couldn’t wait to get an eternity ring. I told James it was a maternity ring and made him buy it straight after my 12 week scan!

  3. Haha…good luck and it is a must that he returns with a big rock…tell him how much he will be saving. x

  4. Babycham!!!! the height of sophistication – you’re one lucky goddess …..

  5. Whenever my husband asks me what I want for birthday/Christmas/Valentine’s day, I always give the same answer; diamonds. Had to frogmarch him to the jewellers for the eternity ring – although despite my best efforts, he now thinks that absolves him from jewellery purchases for the next 10 years. Humph.

  6. I’m afraid to be the bearer of bad tidings and tell you that he’s probably more likely to return from South Africa with some tacky footie paraphanelia for the wee ones and some hastily purchased duty free perfume for you. Here’s hoping for the bling though darling!

  7. Ah, we’ve just had our tenth wedding anniversary. Congratulations. No jewels for me, but a trip to Venice so no complaints! Pregnancy number three saw me a Mulberry Bayswater x

  8. Nothing short of the Koh-I-Noor diamond would do for me eld gal. You’re selling youself short dahling!

  9. In the circumstances sweetie, I think one would be advised to be just a little humble and make do. Maybe the next one up, not the Koh-I-Noor itself!

  10. Love it! Ten years is a diamond? Rock on. I hope you are ‘surprised’ by your SA gift. When we were there my husband tried to buy me a pair of diamond earrings but I said no thanks. I’m still not too sure what was wrong with me that day, never quite got over that.
