Name of product: Serum Regenerant/Regenerating Serum – Melvita

Price: £32 for 30ml

The blurb: “Melvita has been making the French beautiful for 25 years with organic skincare. The company was developed by a biologist Bernard Chevilliat in the countryside of Ardeche Gorges, France. With a love of nature, fascination with the bees role in the eco-system and his knowledge of biology, he set out to develop beauty products that stay close to nature

This ecological and organic company was one of the first to receive the ECOCERT certification and provides effective beauty products with an ecological responsibility that stems from raw ingredients, product formulation and production

The organically farmed and responsibly picked ingredients produce products that preserve nature whilst maintaining and boosting your own natural beauty

The Regenerating Serum contains potent natural actives and anti-ageing agents to lift the appearance of the skin, leaving it feeling firmer and rejuvenated. This daily treatment contains Acacia Gum combined with a natural polymer that lives on the roots of plants to provide and immediate tightening effect, reducing the appearance of expression lines with Butterfly Lavender to help restore the skin structure. This serum will also plump out the appearance of dehydrated fine lines with powerful moisturising ingredients including Aloe Vera, Rosehip and Argan Oil

The serum is scented with Orange Blossom Water and is suitable for all skin types. The serum is clinically proven to maintain supple skin, smooth lines, tense skin tissues and moisturise”

First impressions: : I really love this packaging, it is simple whites and greens, using recycled card and plastic and printed using vegetable inks. The packaging therefore truly reflects the values of the company and the products they sell. The serum is in an easy pump plastic bottle and smells gorgeous

Ease of Use: The serum should be applied after cleansing to the face and neck and can be used alone or beneath a moisturiser. It glides onto the face and neck with a fingertip and the pump action bottle allows a no fuss, no mess application

Pros: When applied to the face the product absorbs quickly, leaving the skin feeling extremely soft, supple and smooth. Initially when using the product I did feel a sensation of tightening of the skin across my face. With continued use I no longer feel this sensation but it may be that I am now accustomed to the product and its effects. It certainly leaves skin feeling fantastic, refreshed, plumped, soft, smooth and supple. The serum smells just as you would imagine with an organic product with hints of rosehip and butterfly lavender. I have not seen an obvious reduction in my smile lines (of which I only have a few…smiling is a dangerous sport for those on an anti ageing mission) but my skin feels taut. My frown lines however (not that I have much to frown about being as blessed as I am) do seem less apparent. This may be due to the moisture benefits of the serum and therefor, it is certainly not to be sniffed at!

Cons: It is hard to think of a criticism of a serum that is organic, eco-aware and appears to be giving my face all it needs to feel plumped and perky!

Value for money:. The serum is a mid-range product and is good value for money. My face feels smooth and coupled with a good moisturiser it leaves the skin looking radiant without the need for lashing of makeup
