First impressions: I am immediately impressed by the quality of this item, the belt is made of sturdy yet comfortable neoprene type material, clearly built to last. It comes with a draw string bag, convenient for storage, and a re-chargeable controller, so there are no batteries to scout around for or replace. The gel pads are clean and simple to position, easy to re-order and replace on-line (the gel pads are re-useable up to 20 times).

There are clear instructions and an exercise program in the literature provided, there is even a slick web site with a 6 week exercise diary and an associated online encourgement program to register for. The gel pads are cold when they are applied to the skin, but I soon become accustomed to it… OHMYGOD!

Ease of Use: To begin with, it is actually rather difficult to gauge whether the appliance is actually working or on a high enough setting. Within 5 sessions, I am confident that I have positioned it properly and have the belt on its highest intensity. The sensation caused by the machine is a mild twitching and which is not at all unpleasant.

I find this belt incredibly easy to use and preferable to the Powerplate which caused me to vibrate so much that I spilled my Chablis (gasp)! If I pop this belt on in front of the TV in the evening, Slendertone claim that I can achieve in 20 minutes, the equivalent of 120 crunches – and this is far more dignified (inspects glossy manicure).

Pros: This is an effortless way to achieve noticeable results and tone up! Combined with improved diet and an aerobic exercise regime, it is an excellent way to kick off the New Year with a new toned and pert me!

Cons: This is not aerobic exercise and it will not help you to lose weight. Using this item in isolation, without change in diet or exercise regime, one could be disappointed.

Value for money:
5/5 – the rechargeable controller is the most expensive part of this garment. Independently it costs almost £80. Once this has been purchased, the other garments in the range become really reasonable.
