I have been Tagged, and I find these little exercises so very difficult indeed (but I shall try…)
So here are the rules:
1. Mention the person that tagged you
2. Complete the list of 8′s
3. Tag 8 other bloggers
Here goes…
Yummy Mummy Tips – Merci pour le challenge!
Here are my 8′s
8 Things I’m Looking Forward To
1. This weekend – we are off for a super swishy weekend break at The Grove in Hertfordshire, voted Best Leisure Hotel (Conde Nast Travellers Gold List)!
2. Spending quality time avec famille (sigh). Well, the nanny is coming too – clearly!
3. Super turbo-charged beauty treatments at The Sequoia Spa (voted Best UK Spa Retreat by Conde Nast)
4. Fine dining at the hotel’s restaurants including Colette’s for fine dining, The Stables for rustic relaxed comfort and The Glasshouse for the dazzling food selection including an enormous chocolate fountain to wow the munchkins – all under the directorship of whizzy chef Vikki Jeffryes (smirk)
5. Introducing my man to the wonderful world of beauty treatments; advanced super active facials, body treatments and massage (although I am hoping that he doesn’t become addicted and start looking like an airline steward – if you see what I mean). My man will be bright eyed and bushy tailed and cling securely to his place on the career ladder, even if I must nail his hands to the rung myself…(stamps foot)
6. Waving to my poppets as they guzzle organic ice lollies and bob about in the fabulous outdoor swimming pool/inland beech with nanny (humidity completely spoils my hair, I never EVER swim)
7. Cycling avec poppets across the 300 acres of park land at The Grove, er, Watching the nanny cycling avec poppets across the 300 acres of park land at The Grove
8. Looking fabulous at The Grove – the destination du jour! I have bought three new India Hicks kaftans specially! An entirely fresh group of people to intimidate impress with my stunning good looks and husbands’ endless fortune (sigh)
8 Thing’s I did yesterday
1. Took my darling girl to school and caused several mothers to have anxiety attacks because I informed them that we speak only Mandarin at home “the business language of the future”
2. Popped into town for some marvellous last minute shopping for our weekend away (spent an age at La Perla)
3. Spoke to chum on my Blackberry in order to boast about imminent opulent weekend trip
4. Booked an appointment with Nicky Clarke himself for a blow dry tomorrow afternoon
5. Had lunch at The Wolseley avec chum I phoned earlier (to ensure she was green with envy)
6. Had a manicure, pedicure, facial, threading etc, in order to look fabulous at the Spa at the Grove
7. Collected my perfect boy from school and left several mothers clutching their chests when I mentioned that we speak only Latin at home – “essential if he wishes to practice law” (ha!)
8. Had an early night as it is essential that I am top form for the weekend ahead…
8 Thing’s I wish I could do
1. Be able to leave the house without my make-up, receiving constant compliments on one’s appearance is incredibly addictive
2. Exercise. It just appears to be so undignified
3. Blow dry my own hair, I can’t help it, it really is best left to the professionals (sigh)
4. Keep an au pair for longer than 3 weeks – those girls are so damn lazy!
5. Resist the urge to wind up compete with other mothers at the school gate
6. We are such private and modest people, I sometimes wish that I could project myself more confidently as I anguish that this might cause my darling munchkins to suffer low self esteem in later life…
7. Turn my mother from a devout Irish Catholic into an aristocratic Argentinean – one can’t chose one’s family (sob)
8. Break my son’s spirit. I swear that child is going to marry the wrong sort of girl or become a nurse or something worthy like that
8 Favorite Fruits
1. Grapes – preferably crushed and fermented
2. Strawberries
3. Blueberries, what’s so damn special about fruit? I never eat fruit. I just drink er…coffee!
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
8 Places I Would Love To Travel To
1. Phillip Island in Australia – Freya adores penguins!
2. Carlisle Bay in Antigua, again, – where we spent our honeymoon – the most precious place on the planet apart from Dulwich (swoon)
3. I have Dulwich, who needs to travel?…
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
8 Places I Have Lived

2. Buenos Aires (OK it was a week in 2000, but it is my spiritual home, OK?)
3.
4.
5.

I appreciate the tag Mumsy but I’m far too old to play – love watching you playing though – a lovely turn of ankle …… and sooooooo smooth *hugs*

Darling – the spa sounds delicious! How lovely for you!
Watch those minxes at the school gate. They carry knives.

So, just to clarify a few things before I take this on; do Opal Fruits count in the fruit list? Only the red and orange ones – the others are yeuch, but can I include my favourite flavours? They’re made with real juice these days so I think I can… Will give this a try one day soon! But it won’t be until the day after I do something glowingly creative and wholesome, or I could lie – is lying allowed? I’ve read a few tags in my time in blogworld and, thinking about it, I’m sure lots of people lie so that must be ok too! Easy peasy! t.x

Ah, now we know so much more about you – glad to see you are not dropping your standards what with this credit crunch and all that! You’re really rather modest old gel, aren’t you? I hate these tag things – I always tell the ‘tag-er’ that I am chuffed to have it and that I will get around to it but hope they will forget they tagged me and I can shelve it for another day! You are brave to have taken it on but I like that you didn’t bother your erse filling in twaddle when a gap would do! Wonderfully witty.
