The blurb: “Our iconic am to pm, adjustable wrap dress. Stylish and flattering, this easy care jersey maternity wrap dress redefines comfort at every stage. No pregnancy should be without one”. I am not expecting a baby myself, but I know a Dulwichmum who is! I asked my chum to review this lovely dress for me!
First impressions: I do quite a lot of online clothes shopping and usually find that my excitement at receiving a new package rapidly abates to an anticlimax when I see the squashed plastic bag that contains my crumpled garment. Not so with Isabella Oliver! A luxurious box revealed a carefully folded and wrapped dress, complete with gift tag and bow. So far, so good! Being paper and cardboard, the packaging is also recyclable, leaving me feeling rather smug!
Ease of Use: Hanging the dress up overnight meant that the creases dropped out, so no need for ironing. Definitely another plus in my book. I am usually a size 10/12, and had the size 2 dress (equivalent to a 10). It fitted well on my bust and clung nicely to my pregnancy curves, without emphasising any less flattering areas. I wore the dress to a friend’s birthday party, and for once avoided the “I look hideous” crisis that I normally have 5 minutes before leaving! However, I did find myself adjusting it few times through the evening to ensure that the wrap overlap was adequate on the skirt, particularly on sitting down
This versatile dress can be dressed up or down – I have also worn it as part of a more casual ensemble, over a vest-top, with thicker tights and boots, to meet friends for lunch
Pros: The material has a great luxury feel and hangs very well. It is a great LBD, which clings in just the right places to make me feel sexy, despite being 6 months pregnant! It has earned me several compliments on each occasion I have worn it so far. The wrap style of the top also means it will be a good choice for nursing post-delivery (forgive my practical streak emerging!)
Cons: There is some “fidget factor” with the wrap skirt on this dress and I’m not sure that I would feel comfortable wearing it for work. However, I think perhaps If I tried the next size up, it would eliminate this problem (although I’m not sure if this would leave it a little generous on top for me). To be fair, this is a common problem I have with wrap dresses, due to my top/bottom dress size mismatch, and I can’t really blame Isabella Oliver for my large hips!
Value for money: This dress represents great value for money, due to its versatility. One to see you right through pregnancy and beyond!

Muddling Along Mummy said,
I lived in their dresses during my pregnancies – they seem to be able to flatter preggy cleavage without being overly slutty which you have to like
dulwichmum said,
I agree sweetie,
Slutty when pregnant can alarm the Monster in Law!
