When I was out and about, shopping avec munchkins earlier today, my monster-in-law called me on my mobile:

“I am just pulling into your drive right now,” she barked. “I shall stay for a few days. I wish I had known you were going out, I hate to arrive to an empty house. I have discovered an irritating hair on my chin. I simply must pluck it out. Could you pick me up an implement at the shops?”

I have purchased her a pair of pliers…

    Yes best see to it with a flame thrower. On the other hand, perhaps you could point her in the direction of the circus. Bearded ladies are still in demand and it sounds like she’d pass the interview with flying colours. Failing that, wrestle that tube of testosterone cream from her before the rugrats think their grandmother has had a sex change. No point confusing the impressionable little darlings just yet.
