The blurb: From the filmmakers behind Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., and Cars comes Toy Story 2 – the highly acclaimed hit that earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Picture. Rediscover the humour, heart and friendship of this hilarious adventure in a spectacular Special Edition that goes into infinity and beyond.

Enter Disney Pixar’s incredible world with Woody, Buzz, Jessie and Bullseye in the movie that shows us what being a toy, and a friend, is all about. Plus, get a look at how the incredible tale continues with an exclusive sneak peek at Toy Story 3. This must have comedy classic is the perfect addition to your Disney Pixar collection and now on Blu-Ray featuring Disney enhanced high definition picture and sound, is hours of fun for the entire family!

First impressions: My poppets had not seen the first film in the series,Toy Story, when I tood them to see this award winning film, Toy Story 2, the first time around in the cinema. They thoroughly enjoyed it then, and were not at all disadvantaged by missing the first film.

However, the tinies were less than positive about watching this film again at home recently as they perceived it as being aimed at younger children. My son was afterall, once the proud owner of his own “Buzz” and my daughter a “Woody”.
However, the animation is much enhanced by Blu-ray and my children were soon captivated, once again by this film. It is a classic and thoroughly compulsive viewing. If your children have not seen this film before, it is a must-have and much improved by Blu-Ray technology, making the sound more vivid – cinema quality, and the images breathtakingly stunning. Blu-Ray disks are far harder wearing than DVDs, and the combi pack provides the perfect format for home and in car viewing: Blu-Ray at home, DVD for the car!

Ease of Use: Blu-ray is a perfect format for those with children. It is much harder wearing than DVD. DVDs are still played in my car on long journeys, and Blu-Ray is watched in the house. These combi packs ensure that I have a ready stash of films for both.

Pros: This film is a classic for young children. My children are now 7 and 8 and saw it first a few years ago. If they had not seen it then, they would not have perceived this film as being aimed at younger children.

Cons: If your children saw Toy Story or Toy Story 2 when they were smaller, they may perceive the new Toy Story 3 as being for younger children only, which would be such a shame, as I was really looking forward to that! If your little ones have not seen any of the Toy Story animations yet, but Toy Story and Toy Story 2 to set the scene! They are family classics.

Value for money: These combi packs represent very good value for money as they provide both format – the DVD is essential for in car viewing (long car journeys to grandparents during school holidays!), while the Blu-Ray format is ideal for watching at home.
