Name of product: Turbolash All Effects Motion Mascara by Estee Lauder in black.
Price: £28.50
The blurb: This is a multiple award winning mascara. “The Brush vibrates to create volume, length, curl & more. Auto-powered, vibrating brush gives you volume, length, curl and separation all at once. A worldwide first.
Now, you can have everything you ever dreamed of for your lashes – all from one mascara. It’s the world’s first “turbo-charged” motion mascara with a vibrating brush. An innovation of design and engineering. Auto-powered, patent pending, and precision-engineered to achieve lash effects you never thought possible.
Turn on the power and the brush does the rest. Feel the buzz, as the gently vibrating LashSonic Brush™ with micro-pulse bristles works its magic, moving rapidly through lashes. Continuously separates and saturates lashes with a rapid release gel formula. Finds lashes you didn’t even know you had and coats them instantly and perfectly. Creates the ideal lash effect – maximum volume, length, curl and separation – all at once. The motion brush keeps lashes clump-free. So you can reapply several coats without heavy build-up – even refresh lashes during the day.”
First impressions: Dramatic and precious in navy and gold, very attractive packaging (looks like something the Wise Men might bring to Baby Jesus).
Ease of Use: This is easier to use and gives a better result than my current mascara (Clarins Wonder Perfect). I am an avid lash curler and I could… almost, dispense with the curling. The wand vibrates as you open the mascara to save you zig zagging and contorting your face in fierce concentration. No fear of developing Vibration White Finger though as the vibrations are fairly gentle.
Pros: It makes a good talking point in the ladies loo.
Cons: These “good vibrations” cannot be controlled unlike the Lancome equivalent, which I believe has a button on the lid.
Value for money: Nice looking but the vibrations are a bit of a gimmick. I would not buy this but I have enjoyed using it.
